GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
|
Our record against Man City at home in recent years makes for grim reading, after last weeks heroics lets hope we can keep the roll going and finaly beat this lot, COYI, 2-1, you know it makes sense!
Manchester City have an amazing record at London Stadium - they have won every time they've played there and, in sequence, the scorelines have been 5-0, 4-0, 4-1, 4-0 and 5-0.
I think it will be a different story this time though. I am expecting a much closer game.
West Ham come into the game on the back of their brilliant late comeback to draw with Tottenham, and there seems to be a good vibe around the club at the moment.
City have got a lot of injuries to contend with - Fernandinho is their latest player to be sidelined - and so far this season, they are not looking as slick as usual going forward.
Lawro's prediction: 1-1

If we score 3 goals will be the first time in 4 consecutive matches since 1928.
Also us and city hold the record in 2020 for most times scored 3 or more, 9 each. I'm quite amazed by that fact, if correct.

Yes, our record against City is dire but it's so good to be going into a match against them without the usual sense of dread. But we can't afford to start badly like we did last week. Coming back from 3-0 down won't be so easy against this lot. No prediction from me but that's a reasonable shout from GTHC.

Would take a point now.
But I said that before Wolves. And Leicester. And Spurs!
